I have worked for over 15 years as a Speech and Therapist in the South West, London (and Cambodia!). I love seeing children making progress and promoting the amazing difference that being a confident and skilled communicator makes for a child.

I am passionate about making communication meaningful and building connections. This highly aligns with a neuro-affirming approach.

My approach is highly individualised for each child. All the strategies and approaches I use are both evidence-based and led to great outcomes for families I have worked with.

I use a playful and strengths based approach alongside a deep understanding of child development and neurodivergence.

My experience includes:

• NHS clinical lead roles for complex needs, including working with autistic children from 12 months of age providing therapy and supporting schools and nurseries

• NHS clinical lead roles for AAC (alternative ways of communicating) with extensive experience introducing AAC and using AAC to boost communication.

• NHS clinical lead for autism assessment (5-18 years)

• Highly Specialist role supporting all early years children, focussing on best practice in early years as well as supporting children with SEN in preschools.

• Extensive experience and expertise working with children with complex needs, including complex autistic presentations, genetic conditions (including extensive experience working with children with Down Syndrome)

• Extensive experience working in early years, within all types of schools, with parents and with a wide range of other professionals.

My personal skills include being able to individualise assessment and therapy, being child and family centred as well as making learning to communicate fun and motivating.

I also have 8 and 11 year children, who have been a massive inspiration and have helped me make fun, connection and high aspirations at the centre of what I do! I enjoy cycling, travelling, growing things in my allotment and exploring new places with family and friends.
